Demise

Demise   Forgotten...

In the spring of 2006, Avalon Bay began the demolition of Danvers State Hospital Insane Asylum to make was for high income housing on the desirable hilltop property with a Boston skyline view. This was much to the chagrin of the town of Danvers, as the site was on the National Register of Historic Places. The town fought to save the building and lost to beaurocracy. However the graveyards that contain over 700 bodies are still present on the site.
